Shalini’s Delhi Roots and Unique Personality
In a recent conversation with Deepak Pareek, Shalini shared a glimpse into her upbringing. When asked about her Delhi roots, she introduced herself with pride, saying, “Mein Dilli se hu… (I am from Delhi).” She then playfully added, “Mein Dilli se hu aur Dilli mere dil mein basti hai.”
When asked if she ever uses foul language, Shalini was candid, saying she avoids it, explaining, “If someone says something inappropriate or even picks their nose, I ask them to stop. I pick up things quickly, so I don’t want to hear abusive language around me.” Reflecting on her childhood, she shared that her mother would put chili powder in her mouth if she ever used abusive language.
A Young Mother with a Playful Spirit
Shalini also opened up about becoming a mother at just 20 and how it shaped her bond with her son. “I’d get as excited as my son when we visited the toy store. We’d go to Disneyland, and I’d go mad on the rides with him,” she recalled. She enjoyed engaging in activities with him, like ice skating, skiing, and scuba diving, saying, “It’s like we grew up together.” Her son, Robin, even used to call her by her name rather than “mom.”
Part of the Delhi Group
In this season, Shalini joins other prominent Delhi socialites, Kalyani Chawla and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who form the “Delhi group” on the show. Together, they join the popular Mumbai “wives” Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Bhavana Pandey, and Neelam Kothari, adding a fresh dynamic to the series.
