Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s recent Ahmedabad performance was a hit, drawing a massive crowd. However, what stood out was his spontaneous reaction to fans watching the show from a nearby hotel balcony.
A viral video shows Diljit pausing his performance to address the fans on the balcony, saying, “Yeh jo hotel ki balcony mein baithe hai, aap ka toh bara accha bhi hoya. Yeh hotel waale game kar gaye. Without tickets, huh?” The playful comment drew laughter from the audience as the singer resumed his performance.
The video revealed several people enjoying the show from the hotel, sparking hilarious reactions online. One fan joked, “Uss din hotel ka rent 1 lakh ++ tha (The hotel’s rent that day was over Rs 1 lakh).” Another added, “They paid more than the ticket price 😂.”
In another Instagram video, Diljit shared a heartfelt moment with a fan who kissed his hand during the concert. Captioning the post, he wrote in Punjabi:
“You are doing all the happiness.. hatred and love too. I don’t have anything in me, whatever I have is yours.”
A Stand Against Alcohol
During the Ahmedabad show, Diljit also addressed a social issue. He pledged to support a movement against alcohol and promised to stop singing alcohol-themed songs if liquor shops across the country were closed.
This comes after a notice from the Telangana government ahead of his Hyderabad concert, asking him to avoid songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence. Diljit responded by tweaking the lyrics of his popular songs, Lemonade and 5 Taara, to comply with the directive.
Upcoming Shows
Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour continues in Lucknow on November 22. Upcoming stops include Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati, where the tour concludes on December 29.
