Tabla maestro and five-time Grammy Award winner Zakir Hussain is currently in critical condition following serious heart-related issues, his family confirmed late on Sunday. Hussain’s sister, Khurshid Aulia, shared an emotional update, stating, “He is still alive. Please pray for him. I am in touch with the family. He is very critical, but he is still breathing.”
On Sunday evening, reports of his death at the age of 73 began circulating, leading to tributes from various organizations, including the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. However, the ministry later removed its post.
