The much-awaited trailer for James Gunn’s Superman film has been released, offering fans a sneak peek at the newest take on the iconic superhero. The trailer introduces David Corenswet as Clark Kent, showcasing a vulnerable and weak Superman who struggles before being rescued by Krypto, the superdog.
The video highlights Superman’s alter-ego, a reporter at The Daily Planet, and provides a first look at his romantic interest, Lois Lane (played by Rachel Brosnahan), as well as his formidable foe, Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult. The trailer also features an ensemble cast of characters, including Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and several other DC superheroes like Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Anthony Corrigan as Metamorpho.
This marks the fourth actor to take on the role of Superman, following Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill. James Gunn shared the trailer on social media with the caption: “Here you go: the #Superman trailer. Krypto, take us home. Watch the teaser trailer now and this post to get updates from @superman before it hits theaters this July.”
The film, directed by James Gunn, is slated for release on July 11 worldwide.
