Actor Allu Arjun, facing allegations from Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, clarified his stance regarding the tragic incident outside a theatre. Responding to accusations of defying police instructions, the Pushpa 2 star expressed disappointment over what he called “character assassination.”
“All I knew that night was that there was a problem outside the theatre. I immediately left,” Arjun explained. He stated that only the following morning did he learn of the woman’s tragic death and her son’s critical injuries.
Arjun dismissed claims of insensitivity, highlighting that he was with his wife and two children at the theatre. “Do you think I would knowingly stay in such a situation with my kids in tow? If the police had informed me about the incident, I would have left immediately,” he said.
The actor emphasized that he followed police guidance, stepping out of his vehicle to wave to fans when asked by security personnel. “If I hadn’t acknowledged the crowd, it would have seemed arrogant,” Arjun added.
Expressing his sorrow over the tragedy, Arjun shared that he attempted to visit the affected family but was advised against it due to potential law and order issues. Instead, he sent his father and others to meet them. “We’ve assured the family that we will support them in every way. I will take care of the child for as long as needed,” he promised.
Arjun concluded by saying the accusations against him were deeply painful. “I’ve earned respect over 22 years in the film industry. It’s disheartening to see my character being questioned overnight,” he said.
The actor’s remarks come after CM Revanth Reddy accused him of defying police instructions and remaining at the theatre despite the chaos outside.
