The much-anticipated release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken a dark turn. The star is facing intense scrutiny after a tragic stampede during a benefit show for the film claimed the life of a woman named Revathi and severely injured her son, Sri Tej. Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested, spent a night in jail, and was later released on bail. The tragedy has now escalated into a heated conflict involving the Telangana police, the state government, and protesters.
Protesters Storm Allu Arjun’s Residence
Members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC) took their protest to Allu Arjun’s residence, demanding justice for Revathi and Sri Tej. In a video widely shared online, OU JAC members were seen scaling the walls of Arjun’s home, pelting stones, and vandalizing flower pots on the premises. Security personnel engaged in a tense confrontation with the protesters before the police intervened.
The protesters criticized the actor for allegedly failing to meet the grieving family and demanded accountability for the stampede. Sri Tej remains hospitalized and is undergoing intensive treatment.
Legal Challenges for Allu Arjun
The Telangana police have filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). While Arjun and the Pushpa 2 team have assured the family of financial support and are covering Sri Tej’s medical expenses, the actor revealed that he has not met them due to legal advice amid the ongoing investigation.
Police Action Against Protesters
Meanwhile, police have detained five individuals involved in trespassing and vandalizing the actor’s property. Authorities have tightened security around Allu Arjun’s residence to prevent further incidents.
The actor remains at the center of public and legal scrutiny, even as Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to create a buzz across the nation.
