Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (WZM) is one of the year’s most ambitious smartphone games, but its high performance requirements have frustrated many players. Activision has now raised the minimum device requirements to improve game performance, especially for future updates. This change will impact over 1,000 smartphones, especially entry-level and mid-range models, making them incompatible with the game.
Updated Device Requirements for Warzone Mobile
Activision’s new specifications mean that many smartphones, particularly Android devices using Qualcomm and MediaTek chips, will lose access. Devices with GPUs like the Mali-G76, Mali-G52, Adreno 610, and similar models are now considered incompatible. Here are some GPUs that will no longer support WZM:
- Mali-G76 MC4, Mali-G52 MC2, Mali-G72 MP3
- Adreno 610, Adreno 612, Adreno 615
For Warzone Mobile, Activision now requires a device running Android 13, iOS 17, or a newer OS, with a GPU capable of bindless texturing. The update, set to launch on November 14, includes Season 01 and beyond, marking the start of these new specifications.
How Long Can Unsupported Devices Play?
While many devices will lose support for new updates, users on incompatible phones can still play version 3.10 of the game until May 5, 2025. After this date, the game will automatically become unavailable on these devices.
Why Newer Devices Are Essential
The higher demands for Warzone Mobile make it challenging for even some mid-range smartphones to run it smoothly. To fully enjoy the game, Activision recommends using high-end, recently released Android devices, as older or mid-tier models may struggle with performance.
For iPhone users, there is less impact. Thanks to iOS compatibility, most recent iPhones will continue to support the latest version of Warzone Mobile.
