India Women’s Cricket Team Sets Record with Highest-Ever ODI Total

India Women’s Cricket Team

In a historic moment for Indian women’s cricket, the team posted their highest-ever ODI total of 435/5 against Ireland on Wednesday. This record-breaking total was achieved in the third ODI at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium in Rajkot, marking the first time the women’s team crossed the 400-run mark in 50-over cricket.

Smriti Mandhana played a standout role, scoring the fastest century by an Indian in women’s ODIs. The stand-in skipper hit a blistering 135 off just 80 balls, bringing up her 10th ODI century in just 70 balls. Her performance included seven sixes and 12 fours, demonstrating her attacking style. Mandhana surpassed Harmanpreet Kaur’s 87-ball century record set last year, setting a new benchmark for India.

Adding to the excitement, Pratika Rawal, in only her sixth international innings, scored her maiden century, amassing 154 runs off 129 balls. The 24-year-old Delhi batter, representing Railways, made her debut in the previous series against the West Indies and has already shown immense potential with three fifties in her first four innings.

This total of 435/5 also stands as the fourth-highest in women’s ODI history, a remarkable feat for the Indian women’s cricket team.
