Indian Army Day is celebrated annually on January 15 to mark a pivotal moment in India’s military history. The day commemorates the transition of military leadership from British rule to independent India in 1949. Field Marshal Kodandera Madappa Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief, symbolizing the nation’s military sovereignty.
The occasion honors the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers who protect India and inspires national pride in the country’s military achievements.
