Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated a series of transformative development projects in Maharashtra, amounting to over ₹7,600 crore, aimed at enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and education in the state. One of the event’s highlights was the laying of the foundation stone for the ₹7,000 crore upgrade of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur. This significant project is expected to boost regional connectivity and stimulate growth in sectors such as manufacturing, aviation, and tourism, particularly benefiting the Nagpur and Vidarbha regions.
Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, which is set to cost ₹645 crore. This terminal is designed to accommodate millions of devotees visiting the shrine annually and will feature design elements that reflect the spiritual significance of the Neem tree associated with Sai Baba.
In a bid to strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of ten new government medical colleges across Maharashtra, aimed at increasing medical seats and improving healthcare access in cities like Mumbai, Nashik, and Jalna.
Another significant development is the virtual inauguration of the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai. This initiative, a collaboration between the Tata Education Trust and the Government of India, will offer industry-relevant training in cutting-edge fields such as AI, robotics, and data analytics, contributing to the creation of a skilled workforce for modern industries.
Lastly, PM Modi launched the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), an initiative focused on improving education management in Maharashtra. This program will provide real-time academic data and tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, fostering a more effective educational environment in the state.
These initiatives collectively underscore the government’s commitment to driving development and improving the quality of life for the people of Maharashtra.
