Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the JMM-led coalition in Jharkhand, accusing them of engaging in “dangerous vote-bank politics” that threatens the state’s demographics. Addressing a BJP rally during the ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ he expressed concerns about the rising number of “Bangladeshi infiltrators” while the Hindu and Adivasi populations were reportedly in decline.
Modi emphasized that the fight for Jharkhand was about safeguarding the state’s core values—“roti, beti, maati” (food, daughters, and land)—and preserving the Adivasi community’s identity. He accused the state government of turning a blind eye to the demographic changes, especially in the Santhal Pargana region, where he claimed the tribal population is shrinking while infiltrators increase.
The Prime Minister further criticized the coalition government, accusing it of neglecting tribal welfare and using infiltration to create a new vote bank. He questioned the government’s denial of this issue, even as the Jharkhand High Court raised concerns.
Modi also alleged that the state government obstructed development efforts led by the Centre, claiming they betrayed the tribal community after securing their votes.
Earlier, he launched the “Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan,” aimed at uplifting 65,000 tribal villages across India, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities.
