Actor Shraddha Kapoor, known for her impactful performances, recently graced the digital cover of the re-launched SCREEN magazine. With her latest film, Stree 2, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, Kapoor reflects on her journey and the evolution of the film industry since her debut in Teen Patti (2010).
During the launch event, Shraddha candidly shared her feelings about success and the challenges that come with it. “I still live with my parents and my pets… and for me, it’s a blast,” she said, expressing gratitude for her supportive family. Reflecting on her career, she noted, “I feel like I have been very blessed. My parents have seen me go through the ups and downs, but I do believe that failure is supremely essential towards success. Failure is a very big teacher.”
The actress highlighted her father’s inspiring journey from a non-filmy background to making a name for himself in the industry. “My dad had joined a travel agency, but he wanted to act. He hopped on to a train and came to Bombay. Those stories make me want to keep my head down because my dad really made it from scratch,” she shared.
Industry Evolution and Pay Parity
Kapoor discussed the changes she has witnessed in the film industry over the past 14 years, particularly regarding pay scales. “I am earning more today than I was 14 years ago. But, there is a pay parity, which I also feel like is changing,” she stated. She emphasized that remuneration decisions are ultimately made by producers, reflecting their vision for the film.
As one of the most followed Indian celebrities, Shraddha has made significant strides in her career, especially with hit films like Aashiqui 2, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, and Chhichhore, which showcased her versatility as an actress.

Founded in 1951, SCREEN magazine has long been a staple in the Indian entertainment industry. Now re-launched as a purely digital publication, it aims to blend nostalgia with contemporary relevance, continuing its legacy of celebrating Hindi cinema.
