Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the new Camry Hybrid in India, priced at ₹48 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it the most expensive Camry in India to date, costing ₹1.2 lakh more than the previous model.
Improved Fuel Efficiency and Features
The new Camry Hybrid offers a significant fuel efficiency upgrade, claiming 25.49 kmpl compared to the previous model’s 19.1 kmpl. The car is powered by Toyota’s 5th Generation Hybrid Technology, featuring a 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine that delivers 221 Nm of torque at 3200 rpm.
It is equipped with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT) and offers three driving modes: Sport, Eco, and Normal, catering to various driving styles and conditions. The lithium-ion battery system generates a maximum power of 169 kW (230 PS).
Focus on Green Mobility
Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Senior VP at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, highlighted the growing demand for sustainable mobility. “Globally, hybrid and EV sales grew by 33% and 31% respectively last year. In India, 95% of the market is still fossil fuel-based, but technologies like electric and biofuel will play a key role in green mobility,” he stated.
Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman and CEO, emphasized Toyota’s commitment to India’s carbon reduction goals. He said, “The new Camry Hybrid aligns with India’s priorities of lowering carbon emissions and achieving energy security. This launch reflects our efforts towards a carbon-free, happy society.”
Advanced Safety and Technology
The Camry Hybrid comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) and 9 SRS airbags, ensuring top-notch safety. Customers can also expect high-end features to enhance both comfort and driving experience.
Availability and Booking
Bookings for the new Camry Hybrid are now open, and deliveries will commence shortly, as vehicles are already being transported to dealerships.
