Triptii Dimri’s career has been a rollercoaster ride, marked by diverse roles and critical acclaim. While she gained recognition for her performances in films like Bulbbul, Qala, and Laila Majnu, her portrayal of Zoya in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal (2023) brought her into the mainstream spotlight. The success of Animal marked a turning point in her career, influencing her decision to explore more commercial projects like Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Viral Video.
Why Animal Was a Game-Changer
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Triptii shared her thoughts on choosing Animal, a film that sparked debates for being “anti-feminist.”
“I didn’t see Animal as an anti-feminist film,” Triptii explained. “I don’t label films like that. Even with Bulbbul and Qala, I didn’t approach them as feminist films. I connected with the characters, trusted the directors, and felt these stories needed to be told.”
Discussing her decision to play a morally complex role in Animal, Triptii said, “I’ve mostly played sympathetic, good-hearted characters. This role offered a fresh challenge—a grey character with layers.”
She revealed how Vanga described her character: “He wanted innocence and kindness in my eyes but a mission in my heart. That duality intrigued me and made the role exciting.”
Transitioning to Mainstream Films
Triptii admitted that working on a big-budget film like Animal was also an opportunity to learn. “At that time, I had only done films like Bulbbul and Qala. When a big film came my way, I thought it was a chance to see how these projects are made and expand my horizons,” she said.
She emphasized that while mainstream films like Animal are exciting, she still cherishes the kind of roles that shaped her early career and hopes to balance both in the future.
Upcoming Projects
Triptii Dimri is set to star alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi in Dhadak 2, signaling her continued journey in commercial cinema.
