Bollywood star Triptii Dimri, celebrated for her roles in Bulbbul and Qala, recently shared the emotional challenges she faced following her appearance in the hit film Animal. Despite receiving praise for her performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s intense drama, Triptii found herself at the center of public criticism due to a controversial scene—commonly referred to as the “lick my shoe” moment. The backlash was a stark contrast to the positive reception of her earlier work.
In a candid interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Triptii discussed how the wave of negativity after Animal deeply affected her. Before the film, she had enjoyed supportive fans who lauded her performances in Bulbbul and Qala. But after Animal, she struggled to process the sudden hate. “I couldn’t understand what was happening,” she confessed, feeling overwhelmed despite just playing her part.
For a month, Triptii battled with the emotional toll of the harsh comments, often breaking down in tears. She found it difficult to focus on the positive feedback and felt consumed by the criticism. Her sister, however, helped her regain perspective by encouraging her to “own it” and focus on her successes.
Although the criticism was tough, Triptii has managed to move forward. She has continued to thrive in her career, recently starring in Bad Newz and gearing up for upcoming projects like Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Dhadak 2. Triptii’s journey highlights the emotional complexities of fame and the importance of mental resilience.
