On Christmas Day, President-elect Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to share a series of bold, provocative posts, covering topics from US foreign policy to domestic political issues. He voiced his frustrations and offered a glimpse into his plans for the coming year, emphasizing his stance on key global matters.
Trump began by revisiting his controversial stance on the Panama Canal, reiterating his threats to demand US control. He criticized China’s involvement in the region, referencing the 38,000 lives lost in its construction 110 years ago and accusing the US of spending billions in “repair” money without any say in the matter.
He also directed sharp criticism at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, referring to him as the “governor” of Canada. Trump suggested merging Canada with the US, claiming it would lead to tax cuts and business growth. He humorously proposed that NHL legend Wayne Gretzky should run for Prime Minister of Canada, joking that he would win without campaigning.
Trump’s posts also extended to Greenland, where he reiterated the importance of the territory for US national security. He welcomed the idea of a stronger US presence, expressing that the people of Greenland, who desire US involvement, would benefit from it.
On the domestic front, Trump took aim at the “Radical Left Lunatics,” accusing them of obstructing the US court system and elections. He targeted former president Barack Obama and criticized Joe Biden’s pardons, dismissing them with a sharp “GO TO HELL!” directed at the 37 criminals pardoned by Biden.
These controversial posts marked a combative Christmas for Trump as he laid out his vision for the upcoming year, focusing on foreign policy, internal politics, and his disdain for his political opponents.
