Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship series with two models: the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. These are the world’s first smartphones powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, bringing high-end performance and camera capabilities.
Starting at 4,499 Chinese yuan (about Rs 53,000), the Xiaomi 15 could be among the most affordable devices to feature this processor. The Xiaomi 15 Pro, priced at 5,299 Chinese yuan (around Rs 62,420), offers additional enhancements. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has also confirmed a global launch, expected by late 2024 or early 2025.

The Xiaomi 15 offers a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED display with a compact design and 1.38 mm bezels. With 20 back panel options and two frame types, users can create 40 unique combinations for customization, including a Diamond Edition with three exclusive colors. Despite its compact size, it includes a 5,500 mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Other notable features include a 50 MP triple camera with Leica optics, a 32 MP selfie camera, and HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15.
Xiaomi 15 Pro: Enhanced Display and Camera
The Xiaomi 15 Pro is larger, with a 6.73-inch 2K micro quad-curved display, a 6,100 mAh battery, and the same 90W and 50W charging support. The Pro variant also has a 50 MP triple camera setup, featuring a 5x periscope zoom lens for more detailed zoom capabilities compared to the 3x zoom on the Xiaomi 15.
Storage and Performance
Both models start with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, upgradable to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. With HyperOS 2.0 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite, these models promise top performance for multitasking and mobile photography.
