In a significant move to highlight India’s rich textile legacy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Tex 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. This grand event, one of the largest textile showcases globally, is a testament to India’s enduring heritage and its vibrant future in the textile industry. Union Minister Piyush Goyal, reflecting on the event’s importance, noted the swift growth of Bharat Mandapam and the pressing need for further expansion to keep pace with the growing interest and demand in the textile sector.

Bharat Tex 2024 is designed to spotlight the exquisite handloom and handicraft traditions from across the Indian states, including the vibrant cultures of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. With Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra stepping into the spotlight as ‘Partner States’, and Gujarat, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh supporting as ‘Partner States’, the event promises an unparalleled showcase of India’s textile diversity.

During his speech, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s leadership in producing essential textiles like cotton, jute, and silk. He proudly mentioned the government’s initiative, Kasturi Cotton, aimed at bolstering India’s unique identity in the global cotton market, highlighting the government’s support for the nation’s cotton farmers.

Bharat Tex 2024 isn’t just an exhibition; it’s a vibrant platform for industry stakeholders to converge, share insights, and explore future directions for growth and innovation.
